One of the major advantages of Nxco’s RBC’s is that the safety distance is reduced to approximately 50m from the rock breaking operation.  This means that personnel equipment only require local clearance instead of complete site evacuation. The benefit of this is that secondary breaks can occur in shift. 
Safety distances can further be improved by the use of covering and matting.

In order to become an accredited Nxco RBC blaster one needs to undergo a training course by an accredited trainer which will include a theoretical and practical aspect followed by a written exam. Following the successful completion of the training course the trainee will be issued a Nxco RBC blaster certificate.

Nxco’s RBC’s transfer minimal energy to the adjacent rock which leaves it in a competent state, unlike high explosives that tend to fragment or crack the adjacent rock which reduces the safety and stability of the surrounding structures. 

• Storage regulations for Nxco’s RBC’s are relaxed in terms of quantities.
• Transportation regulations are also relaxed for minimal quantities (less than 250kg) transported without a registered explosives vehicle.
• Products classified under 1.4S can also be transported by commercial aircraft.
